SOYUZ Scaffolding Plant is constantly evolving and improving, in particular, by adopting international practices. In spring 2019, the employees of SOYUZ visited the 32nd BAUMA 2019 international expo of construction machinery, equipment for the production of construction materials, road and mining machinery, which takes place every 3 years in Munich, Germany.

The Messe Munchen Expo Center has traditionally been the venue for this landmark event, with 3,500 companies from sixty-three countries exhibiting on 614,000 m2 of expo space. The expo was divided into four main sections ‘Construction and Road Machinery, Equipment and Tools’, ‘Mining and Processing of Minerals’, ‘Production of Building Materials, Products and Structures’, ‘Components, Services’.
This year's BAUMA has been hailed as the most successful conference in its 65-year history. Such a high level of involvement in the event, both among participating companies and visitors, indicates the positive trend in the development of this sector of the economy in the world.
The latest products from various companies were presented for the first time at BAUMA 2019, including Caterpillar's sensation D6 dozen bulldozer with a choice of electric drive or fully automatic transmission and Ruthmann's 3.5-tonne telescopic handler. Volvo Construction Equipment showcased its electric compact excavator and wheel loader, while Case also unveiled its latest innovation, a methane-powered wheel loader.
Alongside innovations from manufacturers of road construction machinery, equipment manufacturers also showcased interesting novelties. For example, Topcon introduced GTL-1000 compact scanner, a full-featured robotic total station with layout functions designed to be operated by a single operator. In addition, John Deere Power Systems unveiled a new electrification strategy - a combination of electric and integrated powertrain systems that includes components for both power generation and traction drive.

Overall, BAUMA 2019 proved that digitalization is a megatrend in the construction machinery industry. Today, sensors and communication interfaces that collect and analyze data have become standard equipment, and cars and vehicles are becoming greener and more efficient with electric and hybrid drive systems.
Software companies also showcased their impressive developments. Canadian Serious Labs announced a platform simulating learning through virtual reality.
There were some impressive systems, products and materials on display, from well-known brands such as the Swiss AMMANN Group, which celebrated its 150th anniversary, China's Sany Group and LiuGong, which brought the best they have to make a name for themselves.
A special mention should be made of the scaffolding expo, which gave an insight into the present and, more importantly, the future of this sector.

The global trend is to reduce the dead weight of scaffolding elements through the use of high-strength steels and new shapes, as well as digitalization and automatic design of scaffolding structures. One of the new trends is 3D scanning of the current on-site situation, its transfer to software systems (e.g. AutoCAD) for further design and modelling of scaffolding inside the 3D model, which allows scaffolding to be arranged in an optimal way and design errors to be eliminated. It also gives an opportunity to ‘walk’ inside the virtual reality and evaluate the design before it is implemented!
It is important to note that SOYUZ keeps up with modern trends and implements all the above mentioned innovations. Even today SOYUZ is ready to share with you new methods and approaches!

One of the highlights of the event was the BAUMA Innovation Award ceremony, where Liebherr and Herrenknecht were awarded for their innovative technology.
At BAUMA 2019, Abax and Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) signed a telematics solutions agreement that will see software produced by Abax incorporated into several of HCME's production lines. Once again BAUMA proved to be an excellent business venue, which gives the opportunity not only to get acquainted with advanced products in the construction machinery industry, but also to sign lucrative contracts.

The next BAUMA Expo will be held in 2022, where SOYUZ Scaffolding Plant plans to participate directly with its own booth and showcase its new developments to the world. We look forward to seeing you at our booth!
