A special type of scaffolding without attachment to a wall or other stationary structures. For example, scaffolding for reinforcement and concreting, scaffolding along a glass facade without anchor points, scaffolding in an open area, and many other cases.
In such situations, it is typical to apply the following measures to ensure the stability of the scaffolding structure: outriggers (extensions made of standard scaffolding elements), ballast (counterweight), guy wires (stays).
The ballast is easy to place on reinforced ledgers or lattice girders due to the increased load-bearing capacity of these elements. The guy wires are easy to attach to the flanges (sockets) as they have high rigidity and a convenient shape.
In free-standing scaffolding, it is especially important to take into account the operation of the tensile joint of the racks, since due to the influence of wind loads, one side of the scaffolding is compressed and the other is stretched. The SOYUZ rack connection unit is capable of withstanding a standard tensile force of up to 6.5 tons (!).
All of the above points allow for quick and safe installation, as well as subsequent use of the SOYUZ SmartScaff series free-standing scaffolding.
