Volumetric scaffolding (birdcage)

General description

Volumetric scaffolding is found both in industry and construction, as well as at sports and cultural events.

Large open spaces are typical for use of three-dimensional scaffolding (birdcage), for example: boilers (state district power stations, pulp and paper mills, combined cycle power plants and others), concert halls, outdoor areas and atriums.

As a rule, working levels are located around the perimeter or at the very top of scaffolding structures. For such scaffolding, it is very important to develop a specific project in order to avoid surprises during installation and ensure staff access to the work surfaces.

It is also important to check the scaffolding structure for strength and stability, since often the height of the scaffolding exceeds 50 m, which significantly affects the forces in the racks and, no less importantly, the reactions in the scaffolding supports, which necessitates checking the support surface for strength.
